Public schooling is organized by home address, grade, and program. Begin registration as soon as you know your address.

Enrol a child

• Prepare proof of age, address, Canadian status, immunization records, and the latest available school reports.
• For French-language public or Catholic education in southern Alberta, consult FrancoSud; families can also check CBE and Calgary Catholic.
• Ask about language support, transportation, and accommodation services during registration.

Child care and costs

• Use the provincial tool to confirm that a child-care provider is licensed and review its inspections.
• Compare hours, meals, extra fees, illness policy, transition period, and wait-list terms.
• Check affordability programs and current rules before estimating your net cost.
