Credential assessment
A credential assessment describes the Canadian level of your education; it does not automatically grant the right to practise a regulated profession.
Choose the correct assessment
- First ask the employer, school, or regulator which organization and report type it accepts.
- IQAS provides assessments for employment, education, and some immigration processes. WES is also designated by IRCC for several programs.
- Request transcripts and translations according to the agency’s rules; an opened envelope or wrong delivery format may be rejected.
Regulated professions
- Search your occupation in Alberta ALIS to learn whether a provincial licence is mandatory.
- Contact the regulator before paying for training. It may require exams, supervised experience, language evidence, or bridging courses.
- Keep diplomas, transcripts, course descriptions, employment letters, and contact details for former institutions.
